Francesca Forcolini launched the Labour of Love label and a boutique of the same name in London's Islington in 2004 with the aim of supporting independent designers alongside selling her own designs.
The Labour of Love collection is, like the shop, quirky, humorous and a little bit niche. Often taking theatrical themes as a jump-off point, the result is a style that can be
worn as statement or as a touch of support depending on the wearer. Labour of Love offers women something a little different from the usual. While still referencing seasonal trends, the collection offers easy, wearable pieces that are just a bit tongue-in-cheek. With a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, Labour of Love's woven tops and dresses make just as much sense with a pair of jeans as they do with a pair of killer heels.
