Erva was founded in 2000 with the aim of creating unique, hand-crafted bags that do not need a visible logo to be easily identified. Designers Eva García and Rosa Rial initially set up their business in London, but later relocated to their native Spain where they opened a small workshop in Barcelona. To this day, all of their handbags are made in the workshop, hand-cut, glued, and sewn.

Erva's first collection, featuring hand-painted leather and 40’s frames, was launched at London Fashion Week to critical acclaim. The collections continue to be flirtacious and playful with references to eras gone by and incorporating some of the finest leathers and hardwear. The bags can be seen on the arms of stylish celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and the Olsen twins.
